Muthazhagu is a fisherman who rescues Vaidehi. Vaidehi reveals nothing about her background except that she has attempted suicide. She falls in love with Muthazhagu. Meanwhile, the sister of Muthazhagu's boss, falls for him too. Vaidehi is now whisked away by her powerful rich father to get her married to the groom of his choice.
